Velibor Vesović Shihan 7. DAN
Vesovic begun his training in 1973 at the club “Partizan-Banjica” with Jovica Stanojevic obtaining shodan in 1978 from Hiroshi Tada. In 1980 he opened his first dojo named “Tašmajdan” ( later “Abrasevic”, and now “ARS” ) in Belgrade. During the years he attended numerous seminars internationally most notably under Hiroshi Tada, Hideki Hosokawa, Koichi Tohei and Yoji Fujimoto. The latter was responsible for his promotions this 4th dan. From 5th dan his exams were taken in front of Masatomi Ikeda. He obtained 6th dan in 2005. At the same ceremony, Kagami-Baraki at Hombu Dojo in Tokyo, he was awarded 7th. dan in 2018 and became the highest ranked aikido teacher in the ex-Yugoslav region. Velibor Vesovic is the president of Serbian Aikido Federation (SAF). Besides the territory of former Yugoslavia, Vesovic has given seminaries in Holland, Germany and the South African republic. During his almost 30 year long aikido career he has produced more than 30 yudansha.
